Sweet Joy

Since Dan has given me permission to blog about anything, I thought I’d blog first about the two things that consume most of my time, energy, and heart…my two little boys. The two words that come to mind when I think of them is “sweet joy”. They both, at such a young age, have a sweetness that melts my heart and a smile that can light up the room. If you are a parent reading this, I’m sure you can relate. 🙂

The other day I got a tiny scratch on my elbow. Eric, our two year old, looked over and gave me a very concerned look. Then he said “I’ll kiss it for you Mommy”. Then after kissing it he said “I will always love you Mommy.” My heart melted.

Joshua, 6 months, squeals with delight when he sees Dan or me and waves his arms all around as hard as he can. He is the loudest baby I have ever met! His squeal is more like a ear piercing scream! At first Dan and I looked at each other horrified by the noise, but we’ve grown to just laugh. Joshua also has started grabbing our heads and pulling them to him. With an open, slobbering mouth he gives us “kisses”. Covered in drool, my heart still melts.
