Meet Our Lovely New Studio Manager

We are so excited to share that we have a new team member!  The heart of our business is to take care of our clients in a very personal way.  Amanda was the first person we thought to be part of our team.  We photographed Amanda’s wedding this past November, and we had such a blast getting to know both of them that we knew immediately that she would be perfect!  She’s organized, sweet and so much fun!  We can’t wait for you all to get to know her!        ...

Exhausted But Thankful Mom

I had a shaking realization today that there is no guarantee of each day… today could be my last for all I know. Does anyone else ever have that thought? I have these types of thoughts all the time. Dan gave me a strange look the day I blurted out to him “isn’t it crazy that I’m me and you are you?! I mean, you’re who is in that body and I’m in here?” Haha! I know, it’s stating the obvious, but if you really stop and think about it, its pretty amazing! Back to today. The past couple of days I started to feel sorry for myself. Eric has been so mellow up until he hit 2 and though, he’s still such a sweetheart, he has definitely started to argue and throw some fits. Whew! And when you’re exhausted already from getting up with the baby, this is extra tough! Motherhood has been the toughest job I’ve ever had. Harder I would say than college, or even my job as an art teacher teaching 500 students a week. There’s just always more to do as a Mom, and very few “days off”. But after this realization hit me, that today could be my last to spend with these guys, all the exhaustion faded away and I realized that I have to look at all that I have and remember to be thankful. The laughter, sweet moments, smiles, and kisses sure outweigh the exhaustion. I would not exchange a million full nights of sleep or days of leisurely doing whatever I would like, for these moments with my husband...

Sweet Joy

Since Dan has given me permission to blog about anything, I thought I’d blog first about the two things that consume most of my time, energy, and heart…my two little boys. The two words that come to mind when I think of them is “sweet joy”. They both, at such a young age, have a sweetness that melts my heart and a smile that can light up the room. If you are a parent reading this, I’m sure you can relate. 🙂 The other day I got a tiny scratch on my elbow. Eric, our two year old, looked over and gave me a very concerned look. Then he said “I’ll kiss it for you Mommy”. Then after kissing it he said “I will always love you Mommy.” My heart melted. Joshua, 6 months, squeals with delight when he sees Dan or me and waves his arms all around as hard as he can. He is the loudest baby I have ever met! His squeal is more like a ear piercing scream! At first Dan and I looked at each other horrified by the noise, but we’ve grown to just laugh. Joshua also has started grabbing our heads and pulling them to him. With an open, slobbering mouth he gives us “kisses”. Covered in drool, my heart still melts.  ...

Our Little Family

You would think that since we are in the photography industry, that we would have a lot of family portraits. But actually the opposite is the case. We get so busy photographing everyone else, we forget to schedule our own photo shoots! Thanks so much to Dan’s brother, Brian, for taking our picture, even in the 100 degree San Antonio summer heat. I just love these images for the gorgeous greens and because I know down the road I will look back and be reminded of this wonderful time with my amazing husband and my two sweet boys. It’s amazing to think that this picture was taken just minutes from our house in the middle of giant San Antonio.  Dan has a knack for spotting the most beautiful spots in places I would just overlook. He took us to a little nook close to our house at the perfect time of day when the light was streaming through the trees.  We had to keep it super short due to the heat and mosquitoes, but we still have some sweet images to cherish.  I love them so much I’m already looking forward to our next family photo...
